Bill Snyder is Managing Partner of Daedalus Analytics International (DAI), and is a co-founder and board member of Applied Neuromorphic Systems Inc. He has more than 20 years of experience in innovation advisory, technology commercialization, and corporate finance advice for early-stage startups, major multinational corporations, and the highest levels of the US government. Bill was a founding director of a defense conversion technology incubator, and served on the advisory boards of multiple business incubator programs within China. He has deep experience in tech-focused corporate finance including cross-border M&A, international joint ventures, technology licensing, particularly between the US and China. He has been cited in various articles and conducted more than two dozen television, radio, and print interviews by the Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires, iFeng TV, China Business News TV, and other business outlets on various technology valuation and China business related topics.
In prior capacities, Bill was a senior member of Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance practice and a founder leader of the TAS/GPS China Center of Excellence focusing on the US – China civilian-military innovation complexes and national S&T strategies.
In addition, he spent 8 years based in China while serving as both City Leader and Country Head for a global financial advisory firm leading offices in Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong. During his tenure in China, his client engagements spanned 20 of the 23 Chinese provinces, including more than 200 cities across China. His other Southeast Asian engagements include major transactions in Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
Bill is a former member of the White House staff with the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) serving the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) and in the Directorate for Technology and National Security Affairs during stints under two separate Presidential Administrations of both political parties. He has also been an Economic Fellow under Commissioner Carol T. Crawford at the United States International Trade Commission (USITC), and on the consulting staff of the National Research Council at the National Academy of Sciences.
Bill has performed scientific research at the Applied Neural Control Lab in Cleveland, Ohio and the Department of Bioengineering at St. Thomas Hospital in London, England. He holds a B.S. with a double major of Biomedical Engineering & Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, a M.A. in Science, Technology, and Public Policy from George Washington University, and a M.A. in Economics from Georgetown University.
Bill is also a two-time finisher of the Ironman Triathlon endurance race, and has trekked extensively throughout Asia, Africa, South America, New Zealand, and the US.
